EY 21st KEYS AGM | Sarawak River Cruise at 11:29

21th June 2014

A random Saturday, went back to office for OT in the morning. Bought my breakfast at Backerei.

The other day, i started to plan for my upcoming trip to PG and Langkawi.
Super excited coz it is so near already! Haven go out from Kuching since last October!

22th June 2014

One fine morning went to breakfast with the grandparents and grand aunt. Had a typical kuchingnite kind of breakfast --- Sarawak Laksa x Teh C Peng!

25th June 2014

Spotted rainbow on the way back. It was so special because i din expect there's rainbow in a hot sunny day.
Bdw, the temperature in Kuching now is about 40 degrees. Super burning hot!!!

27th June 2014

Our Company's Kelab EY will have the AGM in Sarawak River Cruise.
Past years were held in Hotel's Function Room and served with nice buffet food.
But, cruise sounds good to me cause i haven't try it once yet though i'm living in Kuching.

Normal priced at RM60 per person!

What you get is..
  • 1-hour 30-minute signature sunset cruise.
  • View sunsets and discover over 25 historical and iconic landmarks, Borneo River, and 360° panoramic view of Kuching City.
  • See historical landmarks left behind by the Brooke Dynasty such as the Astana, the Brooke Dockyard, the Square Tower and more with live commentary throughout the cruise.
  • Includes traditional Sarawak kek lapis and free flow of orange juice.
  • Cultural performances by the native tribes of Sarawak

Am so glad that i wouldn't have to pay for this.

The weather is so bad! Luckily we all get on board before it rains.
I did not get a chance to go to upstair there to see the view cause it was raining heavily.

Oh ya, one of the agenda was Celebration for June babies.
I celebrate my birthday once again inside the cruise, in front of 100 pax.

Finally the rain stopped around 7pm. Start to see beautiful night view at waterfront.

#VMY2014 = visit malaysia year 2014

Another landmark, DUN

We reached waterfront around 7.30pm as per schedule. We were told that we are allowed to stay up till 9 something. But we all just want to leave there as soon as possible. Doesn't feel good wearing my formal since the morning till night.

My videos snapped using MeiPai.

Planning Itinerary of Langkawi - Where to Shop at 20:52

Jetty Point Duty Free Complex

Part of the jetty complex itself, this shopping complex has a variety of stores selling handicrafts, perfume, chocolates, liquor and apparel. This makes it a frequent last-minute shopping stopover for visitors before they board the ferry back to the mainland. Housed within are shop lots that stock various duty-free goods as well as cafés, bakeries and fast food outlets such as KFC and Starbucks.

Opening Hours: 10:00 – 22:00 everyday
Address: Lot 15, Kompleks Perniagaan Kelibang, Kuah
Tel: +604 966 7560 or +604 969 9500

Langkawi Fair Shopping Mall

Home to fast food outlets, a food court, money changers and an information counter for tourists, this outlet has a collection of over 100 shops and an adjoining supermarket. You can get a variety of items here including electronic items; there’s usually cheesy Malay music blaring from the speakers. This mall looks quite run-down and mostly only locals patronise it.

Opening Hours: Daily, 10am to 10pm
Address: Lot FF8, Jalan Persiaran Putra, Langkawi Malaysia 07000
Tel: +604 969 8100

Cote De Perfume

This perfume store has the latest designer scents – like DKNY and Dior – at duty-free prices. The shop girls are not exactly friendly but its easy to shop around by yourself. You’ll have a hard time selecting the right scent for as the choice is wide. The store also carries a selection of locally-made fragrances at cheap prices.
Opening Hours: 09:00 – 21:30
Address: 16, Jalan Pandak Mayah 6, Pusat Bandar Kuah
Tel: 604 969 8286

Perniagaan Haji Ismail Group Sdn. Bhd

There are not many people who can resist the temptation chocolate offers so while you’re here you might as well stock up on your favourite cocoa-indulgences. This store sells a wide assortment of confectionary products and chocolates like Cadbury’s, Ritter Sports and Toblerone, are sold at reasonable prices that you’re not likely to get on the mainland.
Opening Hours: 10:00 – 22:00
Address: No. 802, 803 & 804, Jalan Pandak Mayah 2, Pusat Bandar Kuah
Tel: 6019 477 2205

This particular tomato is quite difficult to locate – the entrance is shaded by trees and the flanking buildings seem to dwarf it. Run by expats, it serves some of the best western food on the island. The interior is jungle-green and fire-engine red; the pizzas are especially tasty and the prices are pretty reasonable. Try the toasted sandwiches and bruschetta; the pleasant staff will serve you anything from the breakfast menu all day long as long as the eatery isn’t too crowded.

Tomato Nasi Kandar

This restaurant is known as one of the cheapest places in Langkawi for excellent fare at cheap prices; locals swear by this eatery, filled with plastic tables and chairs, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. The 24-hour joint serves up tasty food no matter the hour; food is always fresh and although the outside seating area is as hot as blue blazes, the food makes the agony worthwhile.

Opening Hours: 24-hours (closed Fridays: 13:15 – 14:30; Tuesdays)
Location: Bangunan Majlis Perbandaran Langkawi, Jalan Pantai Cenang (opposite Langkawi Boutique Hotel)
Cuisine: Mamak
Price Range: Budget

Boom Boom Corner View Restaurant
Shaded by a bright red canopy and located at the junction of Jalan Pantai Tengah and Jalang Pantai Cenang, Boom Boom Corner is the place to sample some authentic Indian/Pakistani fare. Service is prompt and the interior is dimly lit by red lights. Specialties include roti bom, naan, tandoori chicken and briyani rice as well as the teh tarik.

Opening Hours: 18:00 – 22:30
Location: Jalan Pantai Tengah & Jalan Pantai Cenang (nearby Aseania Hotel)
Cuisine: Indian & Pakistani
Price Range: Affordable

Fat Mum’s Seafood Restaurant

Known as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Pantai Tengah area, Fat Mum’s has fresh seafood cooked in a variety of different ways; the best thing about the food here is the fact that it tastes delightfully home-cooked. The menu also includes a selection of Western cuisine; try the noodles-on-fire, the spicy garlic lobster and the butter prawns.

Opening Hours: 16:00 – 24:00
Address: 734, Jalan Teluk Baru, Kg Tasik Anak, Pantai Tengah
Cuisine: Chinese

This traditional Malay-style restaurant looks like a super-sized kampung house; the menu is an upscale and less spicy execution of traditional Malay dishes such as rendang and creamy-coconut curry fish. The courtyard boasts a beautifully decorated pond and fountain with lush greenery and a scattering of earthen pots all over the place. Try the Langkawi Malay-style juicy tenderloin beef and potato wedges stir-fried with dark soy sauce and spices and udang kebab serai – grilled prawns skewered on lemon grass stems.

Opening Hours: 15:00 – 23:00
